• One application of Gypsum.Gypsum is a must in Texas hot summers when rain is nowhere in sight. What gypsum does is leach the sodium from the soil and replace it with calcium. Sodium can cause the soil to become heavy, difficult to work and unable to hold water. Gypsum allows water to penetrate the soil without forming puddles or water logging, gypsum conserves water by stretching intervals between irrigations. The amount of Gypsum applied is based on your soil test results.
